Indian Village:

"You Promised" Campaign - Background Information

The key response in this Indian Village pack is to invite children to send a postcard to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development. The postcard asks him to keep the promise made by the Australian Government in 2000, and work towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.

The Millennium Development Goals

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) represent a promise that the Australian Government, along with 189 other countries, has made to halve world poverty by 2015. There are eight goals - each with corresponding targets and indicators. They are specific, time-bound and achievable.

What They Say About Kids 4 Kids

"Kids 4 Kids was a watershed experience for my Sunday School kids. The video opened up an experience of life so different from theirs, and they really engaged with the day-to-day realities of the poor. The kids were empowered to be active, and rather than feeling guilty ... they were motivated to see how their resources can help others."

Jude Waldron, Syndal Baptist, Vic.
